7th Cross

I am a regular visitor to Bangalore for the last 30 years. Earlier I was coming on official tour when normally I visit Jalahalli and Race Course road only, the factory and corporate office of BEL. For the last 6 years I was visiting both officially and privately and only private visit after my retirement in 2010. In the beginning I found the road names very confusing like 5th cross, 7th main, 4th stage, 60 feet road, 80 feet road, 100 feet road etc. Once I lost the way as while on the onward journey I noted the number in the turning point 7. While returning, after walking long distance I did not reach my daughter's place. I phoned my daughter and then realized that I was far away from the destination as I took the turning at 7th main instead of 7th cross. According to my understanding, main road means where the bus plays whereas in Bangalore, service roads and roads inside the colony are also called main road. Sometimes I felt like carrying a measuring tape to ensure that whether i am walking on 60 feet road or 80 feet road.
