An Unusual Friend.
My friend circle is very diverse. But many of them cannot be in Facebook as they are not human beings. During my school days, I used to do Pooja at our home temple. After the Pooja I go to the nearby pond to wash my hands. One fish comes daily to eat the food particles. ( In Kerala more than 99% people are non vegetarians and fishes disappears on the very sight of human beings.) Subsequently I started feeding them with rice, Kheer etc. On the mere sight of my shadow, the fish comes up and if I keep the food items at a small height, it jumps and catches it. I use to pat him, pamper him and cajole him . There is a cow in my house and whenever i go there I used to feed her with bananas whereas normally people give banana skin only. The shop keeper from whom I purchase bananas do not charge anything extra even if the weight is 100 to 200 grams more, knowing that it is for an innocent animal. It virtually weeps when I return from Kerala.I feel that we use the word 'inhuman' in very wrong context.. Animals, birds and other creatures are far more gentle, sincere, honest, loving, compassionate,civilized etc. and they are unaware of many bad qualities of human beings like jealousy, greed, ego,selfishness etc. The day is not far off when they will file defamation case against human beings for dragging their names for all our misdeeds.
