Kejriwal’s Electricity Bill
Arvind Kejriwal the Delhi Chief Minister
created a lot of drama few months back for searching an official residence and
there after occupying it. Immediately after occupying the Government
accommodation, he created a flutter by ordering for the removal of all Air
conditioners from the house which was given wide publicity in the media as an
austerity measure. Austerity plea was an alibi to boost his image as it resulted
in avoidable expenditure because dismantling of AC and covering the gap involves
considerable expenditure and AC once removed will be sent to scrap yard causing
further loss to the Government. Further, if anybody does not require AC, he
need not use it rather than removing it. All these measures were part of the
high drama directed and enacted by AAP as the Electricity Bill for the month of
June for Arvind Kejriwal’s house amounts to Rs 1.35 Lacs and he is using 30 ACs
at his residence. At this rate he may even beat the record of Sheila
Dixit who used to live an ostentatious life at the cost of public exchequer.
Inspite of all these things, it is gratifying to note that he continues to remain
as an “Aam Aadmi”. Politicians are hypocrites and now people can debate as to who
is the biggest hypocrite and chameleon in Politics. Government may consider
instituting award/awards for best hypocrite, best chameleon etc so that
politicians who serve the common man day and night (24X7) are properly
recognized and rewarded.
