Misguiders.
I joined Bharat Electronics Ltd in November
1974. During those days, most of the employees were commuting by company
transport. Only 3 or 4 employees were coming by their own car and owning a car
was a luxury in those days. Driving was a pleasure during those days and many
roads were deserted. One employee used to reach office from his residence at
Greater Kailash to BEL (5 KM from Anand Vihar) in 35-40 minutes.BEL buses were
plying to all parts of Delhi and Ghaziabad.
One day a person came from BEL
Bangalore on tour. In the evening he wanted to go to Red fort. Since I had
recently joined I suggested him to ask another colleague who was the self
proclaimed encyclopedia of Delhi. He advised him to board Route No 15 which
will drop him at Badarpur Border and from there he can board Route No 405 from
the starting point, which will take him to Red fort. BEL BG person narrated the
story to me and we decided to check up with the transport checker at the bus
parking area. He gave the correct route number and before boarding the bus I
got it again confirmed from the driver that the bus will go to Red fort.
I was wondering as to what
impression he might have carried about BEL Ghaziabad employees. This is a
classical example of the popular proverb that “Ek Machli poora talab gandha
karti hai “. (One fish makes the whole water dirty in the pond).
