Age
Dispute (Not of Gen V K Singh)
Monday
is the weekly off at PDPK (Poorv Delhi Khel Parisar) where I daily go for
swimming. Earlier it was completely closed on Monday and now it is open to
walkers and joggers on Monday. Yesterday I went there for a trial run. I
requested the person sitting in the office (who is known to me) to come with me
for running. When he was little hesitant, I told him that I am elder to him,
and if I can run he too can run. When he does not seems to be convinced about
my seniority, I told him that I am 65. Then he replied that he is 63. In that
case, I told him that he is 2 years younger to me. But he countered that he is elder to me by 2
years. I am confused as both are sticking to their claim. At this point I even
thought of referring the case to General V K Singh, who is expert on such
matters. On further verification I found that his year of birth is 63 (1963)
whereas my age is 65. I told him that my year of birth is 1950. Accordingly he
is 13 years younger to me. As a proof of my age, I showed my membership card.
He could not believe his eyes, but he had to believe the record prepared by his
colleague.
