Peacock
as pacer
Last Saturday we had a trial
run at the picturesque Okhla Bird sanctuary, Noida. We were running in batches.
I started with the first batch along with 2 lead runners. I was able to keep
pace with them for a few minutes and afterwards the gap increased and
subsequently they had gone out of my Radar range. I reached a T point (it was a
wrong point) and I was confused whether to go right or left. I waited for some
time, looked towards left, right and down. After few minutes I could identify 2
runners of our group running below. I climbed down and started running. When I
reached the underpass, I realized that I am on the right track as I had gone
there once earlier.
On the road to Bird sanctuary
it was a fascinating run as bird’s enchanting music was on the one side and
lake view on the other side. After running a few hundred meters a peacock
accompanied me perhaps knowing that s senior citizen is running all alone. He was walking, running and flying to be
together with me. On many occasions he was at a handshaking distance. After
reaching the end of the road he bid adieu to me wishing good luck before going
to his home. Thank you peacock, I enjoyed your company and will cherish it. We
will meet again on the same day, same time ------- (date to be decided later).
